Winter Beers and Brunch at the Revelry Pub & Grill! We’re so happy to be hosted by owners John and Angela at Revelry, because in addition to a great selection of draft and bottled craft beers, they are very conscientious about the food that they select and serve! Revelry is a gastropub that features fresh natural ingredients, farm raised meats, wild caught seafood, vegan and gluten free menu items. We will enjoy a reception beer-cocktail, your choice of either a Beer Bloody Mary or a Beer Mimosa – hey, it’s Brunch after all! Then it’s your choice of an entree from the Brunch menu, selections will include: Chocolate Stout Pancakes, Rev Benedict, Granny’s English Breakfast, Traditional French Toast, Rev Veg Frittata or CYO Frittata. During our meal, we will taste and compare 4 different samples of Winter Beer Styles from Rev’s drafts served and presented by Manager Jay and Beertender Charles! All food & drinks above for a collective price per person of $25 before tax and tip. As always please remember to reward awesome service. No pre-payment for this event since Rev will handle our individual checks on the same day. Coast to Coast Toast

c2ct3promoBeer for Babes, NJ

Beer for Babes is co-sponsoring New Jersey’s only Coast to Coast Toast, the single largest one-day celebration of Belgian beer culture in the United States this millennium.

Here’s a quick description of Coast to Coast::

“On Thursday, November 14, 2013, the best specialty beer-centric bars, restaurants, and stores across the country will be raising a glass to celebrate Vanberg & DeWulf’s (importer owned by the founders of Brewery Ommegang) birthday and the great state of craft and specialty beer culture in the US of A. On this day the most progressive, idiosyncratic, and wonderful retailers and publicans across the USA join hands, and we salute them (i.e. you!). Italy, France, Iceland, the UK and Belgium – along with some 500 hosts joined us last year.”

We’ll be partnering with Maloney’s in Matawan to tap several very exclusive kegs from Brouwerij Dilewyns, a brewery owned by Belgium’s youngest brewer, who happens to be female (she’s in her early 20s and is very sweet … I met her this summer).

Proceeds from this pay-as-you-go event benefit the scholarship fund for the Pink Boots Society, which helps develop women in the beer industry. This is big.

When: Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013
Where: Maloney’s in Matawan, Home of the largest tap selection on the east coast
119 Main St.,  Matawan, NJ 07747, (732) 583-4040

JDub’s Brewing Company & Tap Room

UPDATED

sarasoto-logoSarasota SmartyPints Anniversary

November marks the one-year anniversary of the Sarasota SmartyPints chapter. To celebrate we’re gathering on November 10th at JDub’s Brewing Company & Tap Room for a bottle share/potluck and year-end recap/planning meeting.

Please bring one bomber (22-24 ounces) or two 12-ounce bottles of a favorite beer, as well as a finger-food type snack to share. Bonus points for pairing your beer and food selection!

What’s the coming year of SmartyPints going to look like? We have some ideas, but we need your input, too! From 4-4:30, we will be handing out surveys for you to fill out while enjoying beer samples from JDub’s. Then we will have a brief open-forum group conversation to hear any other comments and suggestions you have.

From 5-7ish, we’ll enjoy the beer bottle share and food potluck, socialize, and celebrate!

Please RSVP on facebook if you haven’t yet! The first 15 people to RSVP (and show up, obviously) will be guaranteed an adorable JDub’s tasting glass.https://www.facebook.com/events/1378721435703786/

UPDATE 11/8/13

A few notes/reminders: the first 15 RSVP’s will receive a JDub’s souvenir sample glass to KEEP, so if you haven’t responded yet do it asap! The brewery is located on the northwest corner of 12th and Mango, halfway between US 301 and Lime Avenue on 12th – there are a few parking spots on their property, and if we “overflow” please use the parking lot that is on the other side of Mango just past DeVittori Woodworks. JDub’s is currently under some light construction (yay, that means beer soon!) and there are 3-4 picnic style tables and benches that we will use for our meeting. Please, please – be encouraged to keep the finger food choices small and simple as space will be limited, we will provide paper plates and napkins but no utensils to help keep waste to a minimum. See you Sunday, 4:00pm!
