Brewers Tale

Inaugural Book Club Meeting – The Brewer’s Tale

This is truly exciting. As a way to further our mission to educate and inspire women in the ways of beer, we’re launching what we think is the world’s first beer book club for women. For now, we’ll be meeting at The Cloverleaf, in North Jersey, but if there’s enough interest we can start additional chapters or hold roving meetings.

This is very informal, read the book then come hang out, drink beers (PAYGO) and talk about it. Awesome, right?!

For our first book, book club leader Alissa Glavan has selected “The Brewer’s Tale,’ a history of beer, by William Bostwick. You can buy it here: http://www.amazon.com/The-Brewers-Tale-History-According/dp/0393239144

There’s no need to RSVP, just tell your friends, read the book and show up!

When:  Monday March 23rd, 2015 at 7:00 PM

Where:  Cloverleaf Tavern,  395 Bloomfield Ave, Caldwell NJ  07006

Atlantic City Beer Festival 2015

Hi everyone!  The NJ Chapter of Barley’s Angels is hosting a booth at the Atlantic City Beer Fest on March 20-21, 2015.  There are three sessions and we need volunteers to help staff our table and we also need members for our Beer Brigade.  These women will help guide people on what breweries will best suit their taste preferences, we will have a list of breweries that are willing to spend an extra minute talking to people about their beer.   If you are interested in volunteering please contact Lea Ann Wood at lagwood1@gmail.com.  If you don’t want to volunteer but want to come to the festival, we have a discount code of BABES you can use at checkout to get your tickets for $45 each.  This code is good from 2/16 to 2/20.  We hope to see you there!

Take a Penny, Leave a Penny

Local 1794One thing we love about the craft beer scene is how friendly everyone is. Always willing to share the good stuff! Our Pub “Night” this month is going co-ed. All we ask is that you honour the age-old “Take a Penny, Leave a Penny” tradition and bring your great single (beer loving!) friends along!

For this month’s pub we’re betting on the fact that we all know someone great to share with the group, and we’re hoping to brew up a few love matches. Attached? No worries, bring your sweetie along and raise a pint to all the good things that can be found in beer.
