Liebe Bier-Freundinnen,

ich freue mich, heute unser erstes Event der Barleys Angels Freiburg ins Netz zu stellen. ūüôā Gerade eben habe ich mir noch ein Horst (ein California Brown Ale) vom Braukollektiv ge√∂ffnet ‚Äď ein leckeres, vielf√§ltiges Geschmackserlebnis aus w√ľrzig frischen Hopfenaromen, umspielt von feinen karameligen und schokoladigen Malznoten. Einen Genuss wie diesen und viele weitere m√∂chte ich zuk√ľnftig mit Euch teilen und habe deshalb die Barleys Angels nach Freiburg geholt.

Die Barleys Angels sind ein weltweites Netzwerk das sich dem Thema Frauen & Bier verschrieben hat. Warum ein Netzwerk, das sich mit der Thematik Bier exklusiv an Frauen wendet? Nat√ľrlich macht das Bierverkosten, Geniessen und Fachsimpeln in den verschiedensten Runden Spass und ist eine wichtige Bereicherung und doch gibt es bei Frauen manchmal eine unbestimmte Zur√ľckhaltung. Ob aus der Bef√ľrchtung heraus, man h√§tte zu wenig Ahnung oder weil man Bier zwar mag, aber nicht alle und nicht in gro√üen Mengen ‚Ķ warum auch immer ‚Ķ

Die Veranstaltungen der Barleys Angels bieten einen Raum in dem sich Frau mal ganz ihrem pers√∂nlichen Biergeschmack widmen und die Biervielfalt kennenlernen kann. Und ich meine, es gibt noch viele weitere Gr√ľnde den besonderen Spirit, der sich in Frauenrunden oft entwickelt, beim Biergenuss zu entfachen.

Ich selbst konnte bisher noch keine geschlechtertypischen Vorlieben oder Tendenzen f√ľr einen Biergeschmack ausmachen doch es ist jedes mal aufs Neue spannend das gemeinsam zu entdecken! Derzeit erleben wir die weltweite Entwicklung einer wunderbar kreativen und dynamischen Craftbier-Szene, die auch hier regional schon ordentlich spriesst. Ich freue mich sehr darauf, das Fenster zu dieser Vielfalt an Genuss zu √∂ffnen und mit Euch leckere und spassige Reisen durch das Bier-Universum zu unternehmen.

√úbrigens haben durchaus auch die Brauereien grosses Interesse die Bier-Konsumentin n√§her kennen zu lernen, nachdem man sich in der Vergangenheit deutlich weniger mit dieser Zielgruppe besch√§ftigt hat. Denn je mehr sie √ľber unsere Bier-Vorlieben wissen, desto individueller k√∂nnen sie bei ihrer Produktentwicklung auch darauf eingehen. Ich freue mich darauf!

FACTS UND ABLAUF
Zu jedem Treffen widmen wir uns einem bestimmten Thema rund um Bier. Von den Grundlagen wie den Bierstilen und deren Geschichte, Food Pairing von pikant bis schokoladig und Kochen mit Bier, bis hin zu Braukursen und Brauereibesuchen und vielem mehr.
Begleitet wird jeder Event durch einen ‚ÄěBier-Profi‚Äú (hier sind Frauen wie M√§nner “erlaubt” :-)) aus den Bereichen Brauen, Verkosten, Wissenschaft, Gastronomie etc.

Am 03.03.16 findet unser erstes Treffen der Barleys Angels Freiburg im sch√∂nen Nebenraum der Kantina am alten G√ľterbahnhof statt (Die Kantina, Kantinenstrasse 12, 79106 Freiburg).

Wir starten um 19:00, Dauer ca. 2,5 h.

Zu unserem initialen Treffen werde ich als Biersommeli√®re eine Einf√ľhrung und Verkostung in die Welt der internationalen Bierstile geben.

Die Kantina wird uns zur Bierverkostung mit feinen Häppchen versorgen.

Der Unkostenbeitrag beträgt 25 Euro.

Die Teilnehmerzahl ist auf 20 Personen begrenzt.

Jackrabbit Brewing CompanyCome celebrate Sacramento Beer Week by attending Barley’s Angels Sacramento Inaugural Meeting hosted by Jackrabbit Brewing Company. We will meet the beer and other ladies in the community interested in beer appreciation on March 3, 2016 at 6:30pm. Jackrabbit Brewing Company was founded in 2011 and specializes in small-batch German, Belgium, and English style ales. John Prather, Assistant Brewer, will be our guest speaker for the tasting. Ladies of legal age only. Nominal fee for tasters ($10 with a portion being donated to the Pink Boots Society). Beer lovers welcome as well as those who have not found their beer love yet.

Enlightened BrewingOur February¬†meeting will be February 4th, beginning at 6 pm. We are visiting Milwaukee’s smallest brewery! James and Tommy from Enlightened Brewing¬†will be hosting us, providing samples and talking about how they started the brewery. Enlightened is located in the Lincoln Warehouse at 2018 South 1st Street.¬†Hope you can join us!¬†Social hour¬†at 6 pm, meeting at 7 pm. There is a $5 fee for this meeting.

The Chicago Chapter of Barley‚Äôs Angels is excited to host its second annual Beer Sleigh on Saturday, December 5th beginning at 12 p.m. (it‚Äôs 5 o‚Äôclock somewhere, right?) until around 5:30 p.m. The ticket price is $65 & includes transportation and three stops: two brewery tours (tastings at each location plus some snacks) and also includes beers and fun at our last stop‚ÄĒthe Emporium Beercade! Angels will meet at Atlas Brewing (2747 N. Lincoln Ave.) at 12 p.m. where we will receive a private brewery tour, a beer tasting and some snacks to provide a good base for the day ahead. If you haven’t had enough fun, feel free to stay, get your game on and mingle to close out this fun-filled holiday excursion!

*Important Note! The trolley is BYOB and allows CANS ONLY! No glass bottles will be allowed on the trolley & Barley’s Angels will NOT be providing beer for the ride. No food is allowed on the trolley. Barley’s Angels will provide water to keep you hydrated!*

He is also doing book signings from Thanksgiving to Christmas throughout Wisconsin and a bit in Minnesota.
