Delicious gluten-free brews aren’t just for those with dietary restrictions!

There are still tickets left for our unique gluten-free event this Thursday, November 13th from 6-8 p.m. at Compass Bar! This event will feature gluten-free beer from Glutenberg, as well as a few other GF brews. All ladies who love beer (not just our gluten-free friends!) can join the Angels at the new upscale, friendly sports bar complete with gluten-free snacks and, of course, lots of tasty brews. To add to the experience, Simon Leblanc from Glutenberg Beers will be walking us through the tasting, chatting about the difference in gluten-free beer & emphasizing that gluten-free brews are really for everyone—not just those with the dietary restriction.

This is a great educational opportunity for all women interested in beer to learn about the gluten-free brewing process. While the gluten-free title may turn some of you off, we encourage you to join us to broaden your horizons because beer is good!

Women at Six Ten Brewing

Fall is here! The humidity has finally broken (hopefully) for the season, and the air is crisp, cool, and filled with the smell of wood-smoke. Tis the season to put away the light, fruity beers of summer & give thanks for the big, roasty, malty beers of winter.

We have so much to be thankful for in the Tampa area. New breweries, brewpubs, brew stores, and tap houses are opening all the time, many that are fully or partially women owned, and several home brew clubs that embrace their female members and even encourage all-women brew days.

This month the Bay Area Barley’s Angels will be giving thanks at a brewery that is woman (co)owned. Leslie Johnson left the 9 to 5 to pursue her dream of 6 to 10, by opening a brewery along with her husband Chris, and at the November meeting she will tell us about her experiences opening a brewery. Of course, a meeting isn’t a meeting without beer, and all attendees will enjoy their choice of either a pint plus 2 tasters, or 5 tasters.

We leaders would also like to say thank you to the Angels that make this group as fantastic as it is, so for the November meeting we are allowing paid members to bring a friend for their discounted member price AND giving every Angel who brings a friend one of our new 10oz tasting goblets.

♦Members + 1 friend $10/ea (with discount)
♦Non-members $15
♦November 20th. Social hour at 6, meeting at 7.
♦Snacks will be provided.
♦No tickets will be issued. Please check in with Lisa or Laurie upon arrival.
♦As usual, ladies only!

Meet chef and personality The Beeroness (aka Jackie Dodd) as she demonstrates cooking with craft beer. The Beeroness passion for cooking with craft beer has propelled her into the world of celebrity chefs and authors.

Take the Palette Journey with Christine Jump where pairing is more than chocolate and beer. Experience the surprising way that flavors are affected by different beer styles – make your pairings even more powerful.

Glean insights into establishing lasting relationships with the press by understanding how they tick and what they need with publisher Gail Oberst’s guidance.

Glassware matters – really, experience the difference as Nick Mallory reveals the Alchemy of Glassware and the craft beer flavor experience.

Pam McGee, veteran festival and events producer for Rogue Ales gets up close and personal discussing the tricks to making beery events that inspire community,  are memorable and run smoothly.
